I remember going to auctions when I was about 10 or so and these things were still “affordable” (<$20,000 for a nice one). Man, I wish we had gotten one then.

Missed my chance to buy one in 1980 for only ... $6k. Belonged to a guy in Virginia beach who had that and an early monster truck. He had both for sale because of a pending divorce. Was keeping whichever didn’t sell first. THE TRUCK SOLD. I was driving there from 80 miles away with $2k cash and a check for the balance but called his neighbor( a friend) before leaving to discover the bad news.
